A Banner Year for Oswego's Neighborhoods

In the Summer and Fall of 2014, nearly 100 Oswego homeowners applied for, and completed, the Renaissance Block Challenge to begin the revitalization of their neighborhoods.  Thirteen separate city blocks participated. In each neighborhood, residents gathered together 5 (or more) houses to participate, each receiving a matching grant award for the first $1000 in expenses towards exterior home improvements, landscaping and more. Remarkably, $315,789 was invested in homes and neighborhoods through the program. City of Oswego residents transformed homes and blocks in a way never seen before. This work was funded by the Shineman Foundation and Pathfinder Bank, with administrative support through SUNY Oswego. We hope to grow partnerships next year!

Below is just a sample of the 96 homes that completed the Renaissance Block Challenge in 2014. We will be adding more as more pictures arrive!
