Heritage Foundation of Oswego County Historic Building Revolving Loan Fund
The Heritage Foundation of Oswego County operates a revolving loan fund for historic properties that allow property owners to apply for up to a $10,000 home improvement loan to be used for the exterior of the home.
Eligibility Requirements:
1) A property must be “National Register Eligible” requiring it to be at least 50 years old, retain it’s original historic integrity, and have historical significance associated with important events, activities, or developments.
2) The funding must be used for historically accurate repairs or painting. The funds cannot be used to make additions to the property which would include but not be limited to decks, porches, stairs, etc. Funds can also not be used for vinyl siding or vinyl windows.
3) The applicant must authorize a credit check verification and fill out a loan document.
Loan Terms:
Interest Rate: 4% fixed interest rate
Loan Term: Not to exceed ten years
Repayment: Monthly fixed payment
